Wash me thoroughly from mine
iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Sometimes the best time for God to clean house spiritually is when we are in crisis. Something about devastation that brings God to the forefront of our minds and He gains our complete and total attention. We become quiet and we are listening for that still small voice. We no longer procrastinate but seek His face at every opportunity; as we should. We want God to deliver us from our trouble and remove our problem but we are not always willing to allow Him to dig too deep into our heart and soul. When times of crisis come God sees an opportunity to do a work in us, an eternal work. A changing of our thoughts and our hearts. He finds his way through all the barriers we set up and sees deep into our soul. He sees what we don't want anyone else to know about us. Because of His love for us and His goodness towards us He does not leave us in a desolate condition. He gets out His broom and sweeps under the rugs and behind the furniture. He doesn't do it half way, and it may get messy when the dust flies. He delivers us from ourselves, our crisis, whatever it may be all the while creating something beautiful and eternal inside of us. He alone is the only one who can re-arrange our thoughts and our hearts; restore and deliver us. Prayer I thank you for all the changes you have made in me; and I am aware that there is plenty of house-cleaning ahead. Please continue to dig deep inside my heart in all the dark corners and remove anything that is not pleasing to you. I am confident that You will always deliver me and I thank you for the work you do in me in the process. Amen.
