But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
Jeremiah 7:23

Knowing that we are in the will of God brings much more comfort and joy than we could anticipate at the onset.  God doesn't ask that much of us, but one thing He does ask is that we live our lives in obedience to Him.   It most certainly is not easy to surrender total control of one's life to God.  We tend to give God a portion and hold on to much more. We want control, we want to discover our own destiny.  Eventually we find that our hearts desire was within the walls of God's plan that we had attempted so desperately to escape. Our hopes and our dreams live with God's plan.  In committing our lives to God we can be assured that they are in capable hands. It is a waste of our time seeking after anything other than what God has intended for us.  There are no promotions greater, and no material wealth of such value, that it can replace the perfect peace and contentment that our souls discover in God's perfect will. Whatever it may be.

Prayer

My hopes, my dreams, and my future I place under your control.  I commit myself to you and desire to be obedient to follow your will for my life.  Give me the faith to walk in obedience as Esther, Abraham, Daniel, and Paul.  My life is no longer my own but yours. Teach me, and lead me, give me the strength to finish my course. Only you can satisfy the hunger in my soul and my true success lies within your perfect will. In Your Holy name I ask. Amen.
