"Do
not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my
Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also
may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am
going." Heaven is our eternal home, a place our souls desire. I am not sure exactly what it will be like but I am confident that the miserable things we experience on earth will not be part of it. Originally man had a perfect relationship with God. In the garden Adam and Eve walked with God "in the cool of the day". At that time there was no difference between what was spiritual and what was secular. It was all spiritual; before they rebelled they had the freedom to live and enjoy a relationship with God all throughout the day. There was no Sunday and Wednesday services or Bible Studies each day. They worshiped God with the activities of their lives every moment of every day. Our souls long to go back to the garden. When I contemplate what heaven will be like I think back to the garden. I believe that is how heaven will be. We are assured that we will return once again to God our Father, the creator of all things. Jesus is our way back to the garden where our souls long to "walk in the cool of the day" with our God. We will be free to totally glorify God and enjoy His presence for all eternity. What joy, what a delight, unending pleasures we have not yet known. 1Corinthians 2:9 "No eye has seen, nor ear has heard, no mind conceived what God has prepared for those who love him, but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit." (Yes Patty even purple walls) The wisdom of the most wise men cannot begin to comprehend it, Man's wisdom cannot experience such hope of the joy that awaits us, but through Jesus Christ we have that hope. 1Corinthians 2:14 "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned." Heaven is the most beautiful expression of God's love, grace, and mercy towards us. Revelation 22:3 "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:" No more pain, disease, sorrow, or sin; only the fullness of God's grace and love will be there. Prayer My soul longs for the time when I will walk with you in the cool of the day. To be home with you where I belong. I thank you that through your Spirit I have hope for the joys that await me. Thank you Jesus for making a way for me to return to the garden. Amen.
