What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
Psalm 56:3
I don't know of anyone who has not had situations occur in life that
has caused fear to grip their hearts. Panic is typically our first
reaction. What Jesus wants us to do is settle down, take it easy and
relax. There is nothing that He is incapable of handling. There is
no force more powerful than He or any circumstance He is unable to
change. He is attentive to every detail of our lives, and He is never
caught un-aware. The cause of our fear may be out of our control but
never out of His. When fear has clutched our hearts we have a choice to
make, we can tremble or we can trust. We don't need to waste time
concentrating on the source of the fear but more on our reaction to it.
If we choose to trust in Jesus, peace will flood our souls and panic
will cease.
Prayer
Jesus you know the fear I am
confronted with, the panic that seems to consume my being. I give
all of my fears to you and ask you to replace them with your perfect
peace. When fear comes suddenly into my life I choose to turn to you, I
will not be afraid but I will trust.
Amen.
