For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Acts 28:27

People are hungry for something besides wealth and material possessions. They are searching for something that will satisfy their souls and cause them to feel their life has purpose. Most can easily buy a new car but can't find a morsel for their souls. We are the most prosperous nation in the world but we don't always have ears to hear.  We hear what we want to. It is time for us to remove our masks and to stop living a life of pretense. Jesus wants to bring us truth, He wants so much to speak His peace and joy into our lives.  But we won't listen, we won't allow it. We have our own pre conceived ideas about what being a Christian is all about and just maybe some of them we need to un-learn and allow God to reveal His truth to our hearts.  His way is pure and simple, His load is easy and His burden is light. Thomas Jefferson said it best. "When, in short, we shall have unlearned everything which has been taught since his day, and got back to the pure and simple doctrines he inculcated, we shall then be truly and worthily his disciples: and my opinion is that if nothing had ever been added to what flowed purely from his lips, the whole world would at this day have been Christian."

Prayer

Lord, give us ears to hear; Open our eyes and our hearts and fill our hungry souls with Your pure and simple truth. We are hungry and desire to learn your ways and to share them with a starving world searching for You. Help us to remove our masks and to step into a life of joy and peace in the truth of You. Jesus we need you more than anything else we could ask for. Make us to understand.  In Your Holy name we ask and receive all that you have to give.

Amen.
