And be found in him, not having mine own
righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith
of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.
Philippians 3:9
God never asks us to do anything alone. He is always with us
giving us the ability and strength to accomplish whatever He
requires. What He requires of us He is requiring of Himself
through us. We can't forget where we came from and who we are now
and why. We don't always do the right thing or feel like the
righteousness of Christ, but we are. We are the sons and daughters
of God and we owe all of who we are to Him. Our flesh may desire
credit for what we accomplish so you could say it is natural to feel
gratified with ourselves. There is no one who could live the standard
without the standard (which is Christ Jesus) dwelling within them. We
receive from Him treasures of wisdom and knowledge, sanctification and
redemption; equipped by His word and His Spirit for whatever service we
have been called. He began a work in our lives and will continue
until the work is completed. As Paul says in Galatians 3:3 We
are foolish if we think we can begin in the Spirit but complete the work
ourselves in our flesh. To God be all the glory.
Prayer
Thank you for making me the righteousness of
Christ. Without Jesus I could not make it through a single
day. All that I am and all that I hope to be is because of Him and
the Holy Spirit which dwells within me. Let my life bear the fruit
of your righteousness and bring glory to You. In You I trust.
Amen.
